Why WALES?

01
Small but capable

The school is small on purpose. Every student gets attention and support shaped around them.

02
40+ full-time teachers
PROFESSIONAL TEACHERS

More than 40 qualified, full-time teachers. A teacher is assigned to match each student's goals and temperament, and changed if the match is not right.

03
A curriculum that answers for exam results
FLEXIBLE & CONVENIENT

Our own 7-level system, mapped directly to CEFR. IELTS comes with a target score guaranteed within the course period, and PTE is prepared for in a dedicated lab with official Pearson coursebooks and mock tests.

04
Clean facilities

A modern, well-kept campus and dormitory make the stay comfortable.

05
Diverse atmosphere

Students of many ages and nationalities, which is what makes the English real.

What gets learned outside the classroom

Baguio is the rainiest city in the Philippines. Once the wet season starts, a pair of boots decides whether a child gets to school. WALES students handed out boots and school supplies to local children at 'Tara Na! Balik Eskwela', the Department of Education's back-to-school campaign. They fitted every pair by hand, asked each child their name, and stayed for the photograph.

Why Baguio?

01
Academic first

IELTS·PTE, and English for further study and work. The curriculum takes responsibility for exam results — far enough to run a separate course where the score is guaranteed.

02
Small by design

The academic staff knows every student. Up to eight classes a day, as many as six of them one-to-one.

03
All in one building

Classrooms, dormitory and canteen across eleven floors. Students from several countries who only mix in English.

04
Teachers and level system

More than 40 full-time teachers. Classes are set by our own 7 levels, mapped directly to CEFR, and progress is checked every term on a growth graph across the 4 skills.
